Not long ago, Summit Bechtel Reserve was little more than an abandoned coal mile and lots of pristine wilderness. Enter Jack Furst – a driving force behind the adventure. He’s responsible for finding, designing and building “The Summit.”
Furst is the life-long Scouter who oversaw this property’s metamorphosis into a BSA high adventure base that is “…a 10, 2 and 4 adrenaline rush,” says Furst about SBR.
Jack earned his Eagle in Pennsylvania, but began his adult Scouting career in Texas. He serves as an adjunct professor of finance and investments at the University of North Texas, with 25+ years of private investment experience compiling in excess of $50 billion in transactions.
